Kamloops United FC opens their 2025 League1 BC season this Saturday at Hillside Stadium, ushering in a new era under their rebranded identity. Saturday marks the official beginning of this new chapter as both the men’s and women’s teams take on League1 BC newcomers Langley United FC.
The men’s side, led by head coach John Antulov, is coming off a sixth-place finish last season and enters the new campaign with added depth and attacking options. The roster features players from cities across the province and country, bringing a mix of experience, versatility, and hunger to the field as they look to make a playoff push. Team captain Elijah Dos Santos returns to anchor the squad, providing leadership and experience heading into what promises to be an exciting opener. This year the Men’s team is full of quality reinforcements signed from across Canada to support our local roster. Newly signed players to watch are Javier Sagaste, Riad Jaha, Isaac Tate and Wyatt Lyon.
On the women’s side, head coach Haley Bartram is bringing an improved squad eager to take a step forward. With new talent joining from across British Columbia and beyond, the team is focused on building chemistry and playing an entertaining, high-tempo style that reflects the club’s new identity. New signed players to watch are Scarlet Thomas and Erin Freeman.
Their opponent, Langley United FC, is stepping into League1 BC for the first time. With nearly a century of soccer history, Langley’s jump into the league adds an element of unpredictability to this weekend’s doubleheader, as they look to make an early impression in both divisions.
The women kick off at 4:00 PM, followed by the men at 6:30 PM—all at Hillside Stadium. Admission is completely free, thanks to the support of gameday sponsor Papa Murphy’s Kamloops. Fans are encouraged to come out and be part of the start of a new era for Kamloops United FC.
