It was a difficult road trip for Kamloops United FC this past weekend as both the men’s and women’s teams fell to TSS Rovers at Swangard Stadium in League1 BC action. But with a quick turnaround ahead of this weekend’s matchup against Unity FC, both squads are already focused on resetting and responding.
The men’s team, previously unbeaten through their first five matches, suffered their second consecutive loss, falling 4-0 to a sharp TSS Rovers side. A tough afternoon, however, the group sits third in the League1 BC standings with a record of 4 wins, 2 losses, and 1 draw (13 points).
On the women’s side, KUFC battled hard but came up short in a 5-2 defeat. Forward Cara Freeman found the net twice, cutting the deficit twice and continuing her standout run of form. The group, now at 1 win and 6 losses (3 points), is showing continued flashes of attacking quality and will look to put it all together against a competitive Unity squad.
With a chance to bounce back quickly, Kamloops United FC returns to the lower mainland to take on Unity FC on Saturday.
