Kamloops United FC hosted Altitude FC on Saturday at McArthur Island #2 in Week 3 of the League1 BC season, with both the men’s and women’s teams looking to continue their early campaigns in front of the home crowd.
The women’s team battled hard but fell 5-1 to a strong Altitude FC side that sits at the top of the Women's Division. Despite the result, Kamloops showed moments of quality, including a well-earned goal from Emily Clark that sparked some energy into the match. The group continues to work toward putting together a full 90-minute performance and will look to regroup heading into their first road trip of the season.
In the men’s match, it was a tightly contested affair with chances at both ends, but neither side was able to find the breakthrough. Kamloops United and Altitude FC finished level at 0-0, with KUFC defending well to secure another important point. With the draw, the men’s team remains unbeaten at 3-0-1 and stays at the top of the League1 BC table with TSS Rovers through three weeks of action.
A huge thank you to Westsyde Dental, this week’s gameday sponsor, for helping make admission free for fans and continuing to support soccer in the community.
Kamloops United FC now hits the road for the first time this season as they head to Vancouver Island to take on Nanaimo United this coming weekend. Both the men’s and women’s sides will look to come back strong as the season heats up.
