Kamloops United FC returned to Hillside Stadium last weekend for the first time in several weeks, but it proved to be a tough outing as both teams came up short.
The men’s side, riding a strong 13-point start, fell 2–0 to the Whitecaps Academy in a match where Kamloops struggled to regain their early-season form. Despite flashes of promise, the home team couldn’t find the breakthrough, and weren't able to find the back of the net. However, they remain fourth in the standings, just behind league leaders, and a quick regroup can keep them near the top of the table.
In the women’s game, KUFC faced a difficult 7–0 defeat at the hands of Vancouver Rise FC Academy. The result marked their third straight loss and the team sits at the bottom of the table with 3 points on the season. Despite the scoreline, the women showed glimpses of good football and will keep pushing on to fight their way out of the bottom of the standings.
With both squads eager to respond, their focus shifts to this weekend’s away doubleheader at Altitude FC.
